Zero Harm By 2012
In October 2008 the Zero Harm safety initiative was launched by Balfour Beatty Group, with the objective of achieving Zero deaths, Zero injuries to the public and Zero ruined lives among our people, including direct employees, subsidiaries, sub-contractors or partners - working anywhere in the World.
In order to achieve Zero Harm we are committed to working together with our suppliers, subcontractors and clients to:
- Identify and eliminate fatal risks, adopting a Zero Harm approach to design, management and operations
- Identify and eliminate hazards from all activities we undertake
- Keep the public safe from harm by managing and maintaining Zero Harm levels of separation, security, monitoring and stewardship to prevent public exposure to hazards
- Keep our people healthy, undertaking routine health checks and risk assessments to ensure no long term harm to health from working in our business
- Working with our customers to enlist their support and co-operation in achieving our Zero Harm objectives
